Harry Rountree  was a New Zealand-British illustrator and painter. He worked in England around the turn of the 20th century. His illustrations for Alice are rather different. The front piece is in  in colour,  and depicts the fight of Alice with Jabberwocky.

 

I have found another front piece which depicts the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

The rest of the illustrations are line illustrations some of them quite hilarious.
